I'm working on a completely new Log package. It will not be backwards
compatible with the existing Log package but will boast a number of
new features and conveniences.
That aside, I'm curious what the PEAR-preferred method is for
introducing a major revision of a package (this will be Log 2.0). I
was planning on branching off the existing code (to remain Log 1.x for
maintenance releases) and continuing the Log 2.x code in the HEAD
branch.
Does the existing PEAR (web) infrastructure support the notion of
development branches?
