well, since we are developing mostly for web, js is always something that goes with our developments. and packages like HTML_TreeMenu have their own JS. i am saying that because i also have a huge js-api, which can do kinda window management and moveable objects, etc. but i never suggested it to pear, since pear doesnt seem to be a js-place. but if the A in PEAR means application, we may be give it a thought. shall JS go in pear too, i am talking about js-pacakges ... i hope people wont flame me, since we are in a php-env, which is more the backend. but i think those things can not be seperated anymore. -- Wolfram ... opensource @ vision:produktion ... http://opensource.visionp.de ... translating template engine .... http://sf.net/projects/simpletpl ... authentication system .... http://sf.net/projects/authIn my case I have javascript-functions for md5, sha1, base64, md4 and some others like bin2hex, I can imagine that these functions can also be useful for other packages in the future, or not?I'm currently writing a package where I need many javascript's. Is there already a place in pear where js-files are? Currently I have these under a js-dir in the package-dir, but this is not a good solution, because I must include them with php-include and can not use the <script> tag for this. IMHO ist better to have all the JS stuff on one place, but in each package. How about a JS-package? Any other ideas, opinions?-1, IMO it would be better to have javascript for each package in their own directory structure. At the moment, it looks like every special files like js or images will end up in a data directory upon installation. Have a look at HTML_TreeMenu.
