Pardon my piping in in the middle of a discussion with a negative
comment, but... JavaScript is an abomination which shouldn't be
encouraged.
Cross site scripting vulnerabilities keep popping up (let alone those
damn pop ups! :) ), so keeping JavaScript turned off is a wise thing for
browsers to do.
Making websites that require JavaScript in order to function thus reduce
the usefulness of the web.
