I posted a small patch for this package a while ago both to the pear-dev and
xml-rpc mailing list:

I did not get any reaction on either list, not on pear-dev because it is too
busy, not on phpxmlrpc because it's basically dead (it only has delivery
failures and virus warnings nowadays :-( ).
Following the advice of Martin Jansen (when I applied for a pear account to
submit the patch) I sent it to Stig Bakken personally but apparently he is
indeed too busy.
To cut the story short: if someone, like Marshall Roch, is motivated to
further maintain and improve the package, that would be nothing but an
improvement.
