Looks as a useful class. My comments if you want to hear them:
- Would be nice to make easier the API for setContentDisposition() method. For
ex: setContentDisposition($type, $filename=basename($this->_file));
- It could support compressed sending (Content-Encoding: gzip),
negotiated automagically with against the $HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING.
- The name for me, sounds as a client downloader class. I'd preffer a
more clear one, don't know, HTTP_Send, HTTP_SendFile, HTTP_Server_Download, ..
