Well, I tried it. And it doesn't work. The warning about xmlrpc is
given when it doesn't find the extension (php-extension) xmlrpc.
Okay, you may argue that in most modern php-releases this should be
standard ... or you should have compiled php yourself. But it was a
stock RedHat 9-release with latest php from RedHat, which didn't have
xmlrpc-support :-(
So I just thought that maybe some sort of wrapper could be used to
use XML_RPC (php-implementation) for things like "pear list-upgrades"
etc. if no xmlrpc-extension is present.
