You are absolutely right, but let's distinguish purposes:
- the home page is to be read by a company's boss whose young enthusiastic
newly hired PHP developer suggests to move the whole company's <fill blank/>
to a PHP/ PEAR framework.
- the rest of the site is to be read by developers.
Now we're talking marketing...
