have a go with CVS - key features are
use
database_{yourdbname} = oci8://..............
ini_{yourdbname} = /full/path/to/schema.ini
when using the generator, it will add the var $_database = {yourdbname} to the created class..
It makes the $this->_database represent the 'designed databasename', rather than the real target db name (as that is represented by the connect script.. in theory.....

Hoi List, why does DB_DataObject->generateDefinitions() assume that there must be a database name at all? There are DSNs without a database name e.g. oci8 Line 201: $file = "{$base}/{$this->_database}.ini"; I'd suggest to use a defineable filename for the database scheme. This would keep things easier when changing databases. Currently I am adapting an application initially developed for mysql to be run at mysql and oci8. Are there any updates to DB_DataObjects not in CVS concerning Oracle?-- Can you help out? Need Consulting Services or Know of a Job? http://www.akbkhome.com
