Hi,
I personally like the installer and the whole packaging mechanism.
I also release a lot of stuff that does not fit into PEAR (because the functionality is already there, or it's a real application, not only a set of classes) on my private site php-tools.net. And it's really painful to do a new release for these projects, compared to releasing packages on PEAR.
We are currently trying to provide installable PEAR packages for or tools and leverage the infrastructure which is great.
I also like about PEAR that there's pear-dev which helps you improve your package, although sometimes people get a bit too picky, when it comes to coding styles, API, versioning, etc.
These are the things I like most, and I'm looking forward to Error_Stack.
Stephan
