Well, to be fair here, go-pear.php was broken in PHP5.0.0b4 on Windows (XP), which was extremely annoying. I seem to remember it being broken in the previous beta too, but maybe am thinking of a PHP5b4 snap. So there was a bug until recently (RC1) :) I suppose go-pear.php is not technically the installer. Generally I've found the installer to work. I have always wondered where the docs are that tell you how to do install a specific version of a package. I now know because I asked the list, but suffice it to say that it could use some more documentation.Good idea. I may forget to put this in the docs, why don't you apply for a cvs account and karma for peardoc? You've got the right stuff
I'm just eagerly awaiting channels. If you want to know what is going on, read pear-core. All technical details are discussed there. go-pear.php, until maybe tomorrow, was/is manually synced with go-pear, so fixes from CVS were not synced, and nobody knew about it until the release was out. The same is true of go-pear.bat, which was actually not available in any cvs repository. Greg
