I decided to check the relation of PEAR CVS to actual packages published via PEAR website. Got some interesting results.
good stuff
Ghost packages (exist in CVS but not on website)
* Auth_SAP * DB_DOM * Forum I remember that a year or even more ago someone wanted to pick this package up again. For all I remember its really not worth it. If we ever get something like this it needs to generically address organizing of threads or something.
=> its essentially siberia code
* HTML_OOHForm * HTTP_Post * Math * MDB_Frontend This was just a little attempt by Christian Dickmann to create a frontend to RDBMS. Its a worthwhile cause, but the code was using the reverse engineering code to display the database instead of using an XML schema. As such there might be little things in there useful but I dont think that it will become a package in the current form. However I do hope that someone eventually will create such a package.
* Payment_KDDI * Payment_Verisign * PDBPLUS * Search_Mnogosearch * XML_Annotea FYI: I will spend some time in the next few months fixing up the underlying RDF API. Anyways this package will see its first release.
Wrong dir names in CVS * Math_Numbers (Is actually Numbers_Roman?) * Net_UserAgent (Net_UserAgent_Detect?) * Perm_LiveUser (Is actually LiveUser) Yeah I asked to get this fixed. Parts of the structure inside the dir also need to be fixed, but I dont have CVS access. I am also hoping that someone will handle the RFC on install dir structures which will hopefully also cover the topic of category prefixing.
Packages without releases * Archive_Zip * Genealogy_Gedcom * Log_Parser
