I really disagree with the "release notes only for a given release" business. If I release a series of betas before going stable, should the stable release mention the changes? Absolutely!
You do realize that the <notes> for each release automatically wind up in the changelog on the web site? http://pear.php.net/package-changelog.php?package=Numbers_Roman
yes I am aware of that and is perfectly accurate. Both source codes implement the described functions. The only alternative was adding as note something like " fixed version number" which doesn't look very attractive to me.
So, if you include prior changes in the <notes> section, the changelog will contain duplcate information. Why, go take a look at the URI above and see what I mean. 1.0.1 and 0.2.0 contain the same exact info. this is accurate.
Also, I just noticed that the new version without putting the beta state in the version number.
I did it exactly in the same way done on XML_Serializer, Liveuser, Games_Chess, Text Wiki just to name a few. and I did asked on IRC before the commit, so if there is any problem, it was not caused by me or my package. If my version naming is wrong, I would appreciate if someone would point out the other package leads (see some of the above mentioned examples) to change their Package.xml and of course roll another release.
