Sorry I disagree. Either you enforce the version numbering to everyone or we make it very clear to developers. The only alternative was adding as note something like " fixed version number" which doesn't look very attractive to me.If the shoe fits, wear it. Sorry you don't like the shoe's color.
Once again I asked Pierre-Alain and Lukas before the final commit. If my version naming is wrong, I would appreciate if someone would point out the other package leads (see some of the above mentioned examples) to change their Package.xml and of course roll another release.I feel the version numbering document which has been referenced in this thread already should be adhered to. Even if concensus hasn't been reached on that standard, it is the published standard. Great, then please fill a bug report for XML_Serializer, Liveuser, Games_Chess, Text Wiki et al.
Don't worry about making yet another version number release because I imagine you'll be rolling a stable relase shortly, right?I do worry ;) may be this package is not the next hot thing on PEAR but I really like it and I spent a lot of time on the code. I checked the other packages. If there is an approved role, then every package should change, not just mine. Once again Daniel, I am very grateful for your help, but I would appreciate if before committing a modified source on my package tree (even if is just for tabs) you ask me or drop me a line at this email or the other one. I found your CVS change by mere chance, and without paying attention to it I would have released the package with an outdated source code. Thanks again for your understanding, Regards David Costa
