HansActually making this a recommendation and not a requirement defeats the purpose, since then you cannot rely on the fact that things in PEAR prefixed with an "underscore" will need special attention. Having it as a recommendation will just result in confusion.I think there are times when it is easier to change the scope of an instance variable than its name.
