Hello, We want to start distributing our internal PHP code using a PEAR style system. Basically we want a developer to be able to release code that others can then download and install using the pear command. I understand that the developer needs to write the package.xml file, and the user needs to point pear to the right server, but want needs to happen on the server side? The server needs to check the version and decide whether or not to send the file right? Are there any packages, tutorials or anything that will help us?Currently, you can accomplish what you like by placing the package on a web server and issuing commands like this from the servers where you want to install: pear install http://the.server.with.the.package/package-1.2.3.tgz In this case, the server holding the package is dumb and the user has to know the url for the package. However, a new package call PEAR_Server is almost to alpha (or is it already?). This would allow you to set up your own package server which is smart about versions and dependencies and all that. -ryan -- http://theryanking.com/blog
