We can accept Metabase (but not as replacement for PEAR::DB).
Take a look on pear/Forum. As Morgan Christiansson commited the first files, we
are frightened. The source matches not in the furthest the PEAR standards. Bud
we find the forum a good idea and we helped him to change the source. We
accepted it, because he was willing to accept the coding standard.
I repeat it: We accept code in any standard, when you are willing to change the
code to follow the PEAR standard and we will *help you* to changing it. But
only, when you are ready to accept the PEAR coding standard "as is".
