PEAR 1.4.2 will be out shortly, with all pecl issues fixed, which works in PHP 4.x just fine. It would give me no end of pleasure to stop actively developing in PHP 4. GregI think a sane way to handle this, make PEAR 1.4.2 put the PEAR and PHP versions in its USER_AGENT string when requesting data from pear.php.net. Then we can analyse the results and see who is really using PEAR :) If its > 70% PHP5, I say we do it, if not, I say we wait till it is :) I also have no issues with a new major version being PHP5 only :) - Davey Looking at what linux distro's ship with it should be pretty obvious that most people are still on PHP4.
