You know this is impossible in the first place, as there is no legal PEAR entity. Besides that, nobody will ever agree to sign such a document either. However, we do ofcourse not intend to change the license to anything else than the "new BSD" license.
Without doubts about the honesty of eZ, it is not a warranty. But how you noticed it is not possible to get one in the first place. It is also not possible for us to control or apply our QA or rules to your packages or any 3rd party packages.
Well, ofcourse you can't apply rules on packages that you don't have any control over... but I think I know which QA team to trust more. I think the whole problem with PEAR is the incredible amount of rules. I also think that the PEAR repository as a project is now obsolete as the installer has channel support allowing installation from multiple source. Instead of trying to regulate all the code in the repository as the PEAR group, I would instead start recommending to have a look at what other channels have to offer as well. regards, Derick
