Well, ofcourse you can't apply rules on packages that you don't have any control over... but I think I know which QA team to trust more.
That only hences my point about *not* allowing 3rd party packages dependency. You are however not really the person I would listen to about PEAR, for many reasons, the main reason is your endless rants about "PEAR sucks" and you being the product leader of these components.
I think the whole problem with PEAR is the incredible amount of rules. I also think that the PEAR repository as a project is now obsolete as the installer has channel support allowing installation from multiple source. Instead of trying to regulate all the code in the repository as the PEAR group, I would instead start recommending to have a look at what other channels have to offer as well.
Here we go, you are pathetic in your total lack of clue about what is PEAR or not. Nothing made PEAR obsolote, worst or better than before the supports of th channel supports. We added channels to allow external to distribute easily their own packages, to give a larger choices to our users, to open the installer world. And you come here to tell US that we are obsolete? Move out then and let us continue our good work. Also make me (or us) a favour, keep the discussion on facts, keep your respectless rants for IRC. --Pierre
