Arnaud Ok contacted them - I had already started this anyway. The thought of doing it in Strict mode is interesting I will turn it on again and give it a go :) Regards Ian Warner Director Triangle Solutions Ltd http://www.triangle-solutions.com/ Skype: TAG: iwarner_uk <callto:iwarner_uk> TEL: +44 (207) 7871 2394 <callto:+4420778712394> Japan: TEL: +81 (3) 5261 5572 <callto:+81352615572> FAX: +81 (3) 5261 5572 <callto:+81352615572> MOB: +81 (90) 9312 1341 <callto:+819093121341> UK: TEL: +44 (1342) 311 923 <callto:+441342311923> MOB: +44 (7980) 615 878 <callto:+447980615878> ©2000-2006 Triangle Solutions Ltd. - All rights reserved Arnaud Limbourg wrote:
I hadn't checked the status page and for some reason I thought the package was not maintained, which it is *not*. Therefore I advise you contact the maintainers listed on http://pear.php.net/package/net_sms :) There could be an interest in providing a PHP5 E_STRICT compliant version. Arnaud. Ian Warner wrote:
Arnaud I have today transferred some of the Dialogue script I use over to the NET SMS package and it seems OK, I get a send through anyway :) This was the first step for me in learning more about this package. As I use PHP5 exclusively on all my servers then I would prefer the second option of starting a new PHP5 version. Questions (As still new to PEAR also) 1. How does the bug submission service work? 1.1 Do I need to log on via CVS and submit changes? 2. Is the PHP4 package now unmaintained? 3. Process if I am to do the PHP5 version? Wouldn't need to show much code if I am simply going to port the current SMS package into PHP5 - it is quite a small package as it stands, which suits me as I can get my teeth into learning more about PEAR also. Hi,
You could either choose to maintain the current PHP4 version or develop a PHP5 Net_SMS2 package porting features. You can also bugfix the PHP4 version and develop a PHP5 one. Should you prefer the first option you could start by providing patches (through the bug submission system). If the second option is more to your liking than you can start a thread here with what you want to do and show code :) Your offer for help is much appreciated! Arnaud. Ian Warner wrote:

Hi
I would like to help out on this package, my company is an SMS provider and we have short codes with many UK gateways, including the bigger players: mBlox MX Telecom Dialogue Zamino I have files for each of the above to send via HTTP / XML methods for each gateway. I am / was building these into a PHP 5 package but would like to instead concentrate on an already established package. Anyway new to PEAR so let me know how I go about this please. regards Ian Warner http://www.corporate-mobile.com/
