Chuck Yes working alone was in reference to working on the SMS2 package, which I was informed was a good idea, then told it wasn't :) I did mention I don't mind helping out on the SMS package also, and have been given the go ahead by one of the leads on that, I asked how I go about that now, still waiting for a little info on that. Anyway I carry on regardless and will release the SMS2 code soon when I have the rudimentary elements done, then I would need some help and advice in taking it to the next stage. Got my mBlox sending now anyway, so only MX left. Initial thoughts on the current SMS package is that they only deal with SMS MT (Mobile Terminated) it doesn't deal with MOs (Mobile Originated) and how each company pass this data onto you. There is no support for binary messages in any of the drivers. So there is a lot of work to be done on this, and it will get complicated and probably above my skills in the not too distant future. I want to test my skills out by working alone on this if possible, and working with the latest toys, I am new to PEAR as I keep saying and still quite new to PHP5 OOP programming.
Ian- Let me very carefully say that any help you want to give is welcome, and I think it would be great to have more drivers in the current Net_SMS package, for your company's gateways and for others. However ... if what you want is to work on code yourself, and to play with the latest toys, then it doesn't sound to me like PEAR is the place for you. At least working on an existing package. -chuck --"we are plastered to the windshield of the bus that is time." - Chris --PEAR Development Mailing List (http://pear.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
