I do not see harm, if its a feature that is very important to the PEAR community. However I do agree that the barrier should be raised for 2 reasons: - as a clear statement that we want to push the adoption of PHP5 - since we commit to maintaing new packages and therefore we see a natural end of life of the given package in the foreseeable future (probably within the next 3 years) So I think make it +15 requirement (IIRC we have only had a single proposal that got that high a vote) and give it a date (Pierre's proposal of Jan 2007 sounds good to me - maybe a half year earlier). regards, Lukas
