Hi,
FYI, PEAR 2.0 was never rejected, but there were serious political
issues with its design and who would be responsible. I am happy to
steer the PEAR 2.0 "committee" but I have to warn people: I won't
tolerate a 2 year timetable, I expect results in a matter of months.
In fact, the changes I suggested for pearweb, I expect to see by Nov. 1
- at the latest. In other words, the political stuff I think could wait
30 days for a decision. I don't want to squelch discussion, but I
desperately need developers to get things rolling. PEAR has been a big
slow behemoth long enough, it's time to start moving.
Those of you who have seen the pace at which I developed PEAR 1.4.x know
what I'm talking about - no foot dragging folks :).
Thanks,
Greg
