The PEAR installer is shit...

... it will not work on Win
After trying to make the installer work on win in the last 3 hours, i give up
now after writing a lot of ugly workarounds. It is not possible to use them on
win.
Reasons:
1) Win-PHP still chrashs with PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR
2) If this would work, it is senseless to use it and all other predefined
paths. The Win-Binaries set this to c:\php, which maybe match 1% of the
existing PHP installations on Win.
To change this, it is required to rewrite a lot of non compatible stuff like
function PEAR_Installer($phpdir = PEAR_INSTALL_DIR,
$extdir = PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR,
$docdir = null)
Stig, i sad all this already while working on win comp. for the 'pear' script,
but you did the same errors again. :(
