Yes, data-types are great! I can imagine this idea has crossed everybody's mind. and I like to presume that the common supposition has been to wait until php adopts data-types as objects the problem is that this will break the main php structure Its kind of sad because, this is holding php back and well so nobody is working on it! I think. I myself did some code-sketches and made some classes but never even thought of sending it to pear because it is not the level that it should be written on. defenetly a pecl package is best! : D and even if it is done in pear I think this will revolutionate php-coding on a global scale, if not I think you'll like ruby a lot!
