I would like to contribute a class named HTTP_Client. It is basically a user
agent parser that does both browser and os detection. It is strictly, strictly
based on the Mozilla JavaScript browser detection code at
http://www.mozilla.org/docs/web-developer/sniffer/browser_type.html
which happens to be the same code followed by our friends over at CPAN.org when
writing the Perl module. I also implemented ideas from the guys at Horde using
functions such as get/set/hasQuirk and get/set/hasFeature to do the basic
quirk/feature detection. There are little or no regular expressions used since
you don't really need them to do this task, and hardly any are used in the CPAN
module either.
I intend on calling the class HTTP_Client for brevity and would plan to make a
folder named HTTP_Client and put the Client.php file inside of that folder. I
will post the code at the request of the list if review must be done first.
The code is strictly pear compliant and I already have a commit account.
Thanks,
Dan Allen
