if this will respect preconfigured env setting by the user, i would really
like this. also referring to bug http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=17421, where
spluess arguments, why one should use c:\php, your modification would help
win32-users with c:\php installations a lot. actually, it did not bother me
until i tried to use the pear installer. but now it does ;)
eventually one would need to adapt your modification on all the following:
