I have yet another problem :-)
If the user changes his php_dir so the registry changes, this will apply
to PECL packages too. So if I install a package that has only a .so
file, changing php_dir makes the installer forget about it.
I really don't want to lose the "make your own pear installation"
functionality, so moving everything to one, system-wide regsitry is not
an option imho. I'd rather split the registry into one for each type of
file (one in php_dir, one in ext_dir etc.) That would be consistent,
but I'm not sure if it's practical.
