I've changed pear.bat minutes ago, now pear.bat only needs to set two
vars: PHP_BIN and PEAR_PATH.
I forget to mention that before running any command, you should set your
pear install dir, this will be used instead of the hardcoded
PEAR_INSTALL_DIR (http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=17516 and others). Do
it so:
c:> pear -d php_dir=c:\var\pear -s
DOH! I also have a /php4 directory so didnt get any errors... I just copied the directories over to my php directory. I have done a few simple tests using HTML/Table.php which seems to work ok - pear errors work as well
The thing is... I never installed this (HTML/Table.php) and there is no registry file associated with it. IMHO this shouldnt be allowed. Is there some kind of / to _ mapping included in pear?, some classes use this syntax. /PEAR/Frontend/Gtk (downloaded from /pear not php4/pear) this doesnt work here.... i need to change them to the correct file paths eg PEAR_Frontend_Gtk/Gtk/ etc
Could someone briefly explain what the registry is used for, as far as I can tell, it is just a basic form of cvs... (?)
BTW .filemap contains a:0:{} , should it contain information? the registry files themselves seem to have generated correctly
Is PECL seperated from PEAR? - they dont really seem related at this point, will the pear installer install PECL extensions as well? or will that still be the same method as it is now. I am interested in the imagek extension but havent had much luck installing it on my nix server... i dont spose there is a win dll i could play with ?? (pretty please ;)
