I don't know what makes you think I'm an IE "zealot", but I can assure you
that
I'm not. If there was a better browser out there, I'd use it.

You're being a little naive here. Simply "not using document.all" does not
ensure
compatibility with all browsers. There are numerous nuances between
browsers, and
browser version that make cross browser scripting a pita, and time
consuming.
