not XML, but I was testing autogeneration with DB_DataObject -
I have a packaged class that autobuilds whole database interfaces using HTML_QuickForm + DB_DataObjects + Template_Flexy.. + HTML_DataObject_FlexForms -
the principle is the scripts builds templates which have tags for the HTML_QuickFroms.. the templates can then be hand crafted to exact requirements..
It's extremely experimental.. - but very efficient...
