Hi Norbert, I am not a translator, but I can tell you the steps to getting set up as a translator. First, I would make sure you have a working build environment for the manual, and that you can compile the english version and see the HTML output. This is not possible on windows, you must have linux. Or, if you have lots of cygwin knowledge, and can get it to work, please post the information needed to fix this. Next, you need to get a cvs account with karma for the peardoc/hu directory (is hu the lang code for hungarian?) The directory will need to be created in CVS, and it should be a copy of the structure of peardoc/en. All translated files must have a comment containing Sync information, this can be used to determine which files have not been translated automatically. Look at any of the other translations when you check out peardoc to see an example. The Sync comment links a translation to a Revision of the english docs. If the english docs contain: <!-- $Revision 1.2 --> You should use <!-- Sync: 1.2 --> I'm sure some of the information I've given is incorrect, it would be great if one of the translators could correct anything I've gotten wrong :) Incidentally, if you're really familiar with PEAR, perhaps the best way to get involved in documentation is to first write English documentation for the packages that you use, and send them to the list to be committed. There are many undocumented packages out there dying to have documentation. Don't worry about those marked "beta" or "alpha", only stable packages without documentation need be documented sooner rather than later. Thanks, Greg Norbert Mocsnik wrote:
Hello, I'm interested in creating the hungarian version of the PEAR manual. Please give me some hints on starting, I'm very new to this list.. I'm fully familiar with PEAR and almost every aspect of it, I use it since January 2003. I even know the CVS and I can see the peardoc/ directory but I don't know how to start or what to do with it. Any comments are welcome. Thank you, Norbert Mocsnik Freelance developer
