Well, the only good and official way to install pear (if you are not a
developer of pear itself) is the go-pear way (webinstaller will be soon
good too, isn't it Christian ? ;-) ).
Be sure to remove *all* old pear stuffs, in your php folders, all others
tests, temps, etc...
Unset all environment variables related to pear.
Run go-pear using one of this way:
// The *nix cool way
# php -r "include 'http://pear.php.net/go-pear';"
// Windows & CLI
# php -r "readfile('http://pear.php.net/go-pear');" | php
// Tradicional Unix
# lynx -source http://pear.php.net/go-pear | php
// Modern Unix
# wget -qO- pear.php.net/go-pear | php -q
// CGI version hax0r
# php -d auto_prepend_file=http://pear.php.net/go-pear
// Tradicional Windows
Start->Applications->Internet Explorer
Type in the URL box: http://pear.php.net/go-pear
Menu bar: File->Save As->c:\go-pear
Start->Run Command
Type: command
In the console type: php -f c:\go-pear
When you are done with that, the line defining pear.in in pear.bat may
point to the wrong place, update it according your installation tree.
Another "error" is the c:\php4 folder, it will be created always,
whatever you set as the pear prefix. We cannot currently fix it, this
path is hardcoded in binary php releases.
