I figure that would be best as well. I haven't looked at the existing ID3 extension in quite some time, so I can't really say what it would take to merge them together. Perhaps a few #defines to enable the extra abilities of id3lib if it's present during the build or something. If the extension's author was really in to that in the first place, I guess.
