1) Nope, no third party lib, it's all my code - I will be picking one of the OSS licenses, the one recommended by php.net or a BSD style license. 2) Currently it's called anmOpenGIS - because it's an implementation of the OpenGIS WKB standard. Open to suggestions. It's being used internally in my own applications so a lot of the public niceties have been omitted, but will obviously be cleaning that up when it becomes public. 3) Sure. I could e-mail you a copy or something like that. I'd have to attach license etc. (as I haven't done that yet). Other things not done are the tests etc. I don't run a channel server or anything like that, so not sure where to host it. Let me know! v. Olivier Hill wrote:
Hello Vincent, I would personnally love to see this in PECL. Couple of questions: 1) Are you using any third party lib or just your code? What's the license? 2) Do you have an idea of the name you want the extension to have? 3) Is there any place we can see some sample code? As for the rest, you will need to request a CVS account as well as a PECL account if the community agrees to your PECL addition. Good stuff. Greetings all, My name is Vincent Ting and I'm an addict^H^H^H^H^H^H developer. I've written a small PECL extension that formats the OpenGIS WKB geometries into PHP arrays for easier handling (there is also a plan for a utility function module - currently only one function present - a fast pointInPolygonWKB() tester). So this will help those people using the MySQL spatial extensions for example. This module is 3 times faster than having PHP parse the text version of the OpenGIS structures as pointer arithmetic in the binary structures is a much more efficient way of accessing the data. I'd like to release it to the world and perhaps someone can help fill in the rest of the utility functions as they were started mainly as an adjunct to the missing spatial functions in MySQL (all of the spatial functions implemented are only MBR). Any thoughts? v. -- PECL development discussion Mailing List (http://pecl.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
