But how do you handle existing code that does:
if ( $xx==$something )
I think that any part of the new operator should not have part of it being
a character that is valid as a variable name, whether it is in the middle
or not.
I am also afraid that =|= and =!= may be hard to differentiate with some
fonts or those of less than optimal eye site.
So far I prefer =:= and =!=.
