Sam,
I installed pdflib2.0.1 to the default spot on my system. Which is
/usr/local/lib/libpdf2.0.1.so (or whatever the pdflib filename is).
I also installed pdflib with the -static option and it put a
pdflib2.01.a file in that same directory. (I'm not a c programmer and I
haven't a clue what the difference is with a .a or .so file, somebody had
mentioned earlier you may need the libpdf.a file in there :)
I do not have an older version of pdflib installed on the system. 2.01
was the only one I ever downloaded.
I know pdflib2.01 works because I ran "make test" and it went through
all the motions and gave me a pdf file (test000.pdf or something or other).
I opened the test pdf file and it viewed correctly.
I'm with you as far as the RPM thing is concerned. It makes things a lot
easier.
I'm running on RedHat 6.0 with an intel pentium. The install was mostly
by the book with no peculiarities....
Thanks in advance,
Chris
