Which is > /usr/local/lib/libpdf2.0.1.so (or whatever the pdflib filename is). Ah. If you have redhat 6 I think you would want it in /usr/lib Personall, I save /usr/local for non-official (=non-rpm) stuff. > I also installed pdflib with the -static option and it put a good. > pdflib2.01.a file in that same directory. (I'm not a c programmer and I > haven't a clue what the difference is with a .a or .so file, somebody had > mentioned earlier you may need the libpdf.a file in there :) You would put the .a file in /usr/local/lib or /usr/lib and any .h files in /usr/include or /usr/local/include, however the lib libpdf2.01.a has the wrong name; or rather it should also have a link so it is call libpdf.a and this may be your problem (I learnt this last week with the lazarus project). So cd to the directory that holds libpdf2.01.a and do: ln -s ./libpdf2.01.a ./libpdf.a and then you may be ok. > I know pdflib2.01 works because I ran "make test" and it went through > all the motions and gave me a pdf file (test000.pdf or something > or other). > I opened the test pdf file and it viewed correctly. > > I'm with you as far as the RPM thing is concerned. You can get a copy from: http://www.csluk.demon.co.uk/rpm/ (as well as yesterdays php4 cvs as an rpm) Sam
