OK, you also need zlib (for compression). Zeev, maybe configure needs to
"require" zlib if pdflib is used?

thats OK

good.

is it? What deleting directory? Anyway because its an RPM you just re-make
the RPM. It builds itself in a temp dir so there is NEVER anything left
over from the previous time that might break it. Cool, eh?

Ahh.
I think I got my zlib from the redhat disks, otherwise:
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/rawhide/1.0/i386/RedHat/RPMS/zlib-1.1.3-5.i386.
html
Then re-build the rpm.
{Do you know how to build an rpm - you don't run ./configure or any such
nonsense unless you are debugging}
Get my source RPM and install with
rpm -Uvh php*.rpm
then, cd to /usr/src/redhat/SPECS
and do
rpm -ba php4*spec
IF its not working then you can cd to /usr/src/redhat/BUILDS/php4*
and start messing about with ./configure to see why its busted.
Then you fix it in the .spec file or by installing missing libraries and do
an rpm -ba again!
