Well, a quick check would be to make the script twice as long and see if
the calls to yy_get_previous_state doubles.

I can, but Zeev and Andi probably have the best grasp on the latest flex
stuff. I know the bison code pretty well having hunted all through it
trying to debug some stuff once, but I am not that familiar with the flex
code.
