Hi!
+1; I don't see any rationale for "strongly discouraging" LGPL v2 libraries and prohibiting LGPL v3 ones, yet accepting commercial libraries.Actually, there is. *GPL are designed to be viral - i.e. influence derived works. Since wrappers can be considered derived works, it limits the options of the extension user, and we try not to have such extensions in PECL. That of course means commercial _extension_ would not be allowed (and aren't) - but open extensions to commercial products would be. Otherwise we'd have to exclude Windows support or Amazon APIs support - as you'd have to pay somebody to actually use those, even though extension code is open and free. -- Stanislav Malyshev, Software Architect SugarCRM: http://www.sugarcrm.com/ (408)454-6900 ext. 227
