New Comment:
Hi
Do you use Sablotron? Does it work without it?
I know from my experience under Linux, that ext/java with jdk1.4 and
Sablotron doesn't work. But jdk 1.3 does fine.

Also, I noticed that before reporting the message 'Unable to Create
Java Virtual Machine', I get an error saying something like 'PHP found
a violation access at <ADDRESS>'. After that I only get errors. I don't
know if before every virtual machine error there is an error like this.

False alarm! I just got 'Unable to create Java Virtual Machine'
executing the first example that is in the docs...
afterwards I got periods of errors and periods of success!
Definitively there's something wrong. Ideas?

With jdk1.1.8 I got even worse errors. Fisrt, I couldn't find jvm.dll
in the installation directory. I read somewhere that instead I should
use javai.dll, but using this dll I only got error 500.
Back to j2sdk1.4.0_01, I tried to change my configuration. I set
java.library.path to C:\PHP\extensions (before it was unset), and now I
have the following java section in php.ini:
[Java]
java.class.path = c:\PHP\extensions\php_java.jar
java.home = "C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\bin"
java.library = "C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
java.library.path = "C:\PHP\extensions"
Now I have been able to keep the F5 key pressed and no errors showed
up. Also, it seemed to work, because it's been running here for about
30 minutes (I only have one page that uses java that I reload from time
to time) with no errors.
I wouldn't say that it works perfectly now, but it seems better that
before. I'll try to make some other tests and see what happens, and
then I'll report here my results.

As I couldn´t get a definitive answer for this, I´m posting a new bug.
I can´t make the Java extension work. It runs fine for some time, but
after some time I just get the message "Unable to Create Java Virtual
Machine". If I make a lot of connections (just pressing the F5 key) I
can reproduce the error. After this error, I might be succesful in
another execution, but not always.
I´m using Java 1.4.0_01.
My php.ini is configured like this:
java.class.path = c:\PHP\extensions\php_java.jar
java.home = "C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01"
java.library = "C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
Even setting java.home to C:\j2sdk1.4.0_01\bin would not work. I even
tried PHP 4.1.2 + jdk1.2.2, but it reported the same behavior.
Any help would be appreciated.
