I´ve been thinking about serializing references too because unserializing references would speed up some objects greatly... Is it possible to retrieve the information if a variable is a reference with eg is_reference() from user land? and even better to retrieve to which variable(name) that reference points? print_r() is able to display references thus it should be possible to get that information somehow. then one could serialize the information which references points to which variable in an object separately and after unserializing an object one would have to call a special wake_up_references() method and the state should have been restored? roughly thought on it, maybe I´ve missed something but it would be a workaround with minimal modifications (at ZEND) regards -- o----------0-¬---------O-·---¬----o---®-----o o O ° . | http://www.kiffen.de | pRoteçt y0ur bRaín |0 O ° ¤ ° · 0°·³°²'²³-¹'³´³°^°³~³²³°'³²²¨³²^³¹³²°²³`³º³°Þ ° o © ° . · | psychedelic experience | gott@kiffen.de | O ° o ° o-¬--o--0-----©-·--O-----o-----0-¤----------o 0 ° · ° . ¤ ·
