In other words, if your vision of PHP is not taken up by all PHP
developers, then you intend to begin a campaign against PHP.
It won't work. The typical PHP user easily recognizes FUD.
I don't appreciate this argument that some large group of PHP
users are silently suffering for not having PHP re-shaped into
something that looks more like Java servlets. And it's insane
to suggest that Zeev or any of the other PHP developers ought
to bend to the will of any group, even a majority.
Zeev clearly has a vision for the future of PHP. His guidance
and the guidance of other individuals have proven always to
be of the highest order with much benefit for us all. Most of
us are making our living, directly or indirectly, from PHP.
This is strong evidence that PHP's design is not flawed.
Still, if you do think PHP ought to change in a way with which
the project leaders disagree, there is a way to go about it. PHP
is open-source, and these kind of disagreements in open-source
projects are solved by forks. Instead of asking that the project
change to your desires, make a copy and start your own project.
