Hi,
Pepr uses PEAR classes for almost everything. for the database, for the forms, for access permissions and a bbcode parser Now I, and I guess others, would like to know how we want things. Do we want to use (PEAR) classes for - the database (SQLite) connection and related functions - for the forms - for permissions, Damblan is used for this at pear.php.net and if we don't, how will we do it?
PEAR probably needs to be installed anyway, and I don't see a problem of pepr using PEAR classes. It does not mean we need to use them for other parts of the site. Only that needs to be made sure that the pepr output is glued properly inside the site (header/footer/sidebar, authentication, etc.).
- do we use the magiccookie login info and an array for the admins (in_array, simple but bugs.php.net also does this)
Since this is the simplest and does not require handing out of accounts, we decided to go on this route. And the master server already has facilities to authenticate a cookie as pointed out by Nuno. Goba
