Actually, since you're wanting to get specific about etiquette:
1. *Never* use the word netiquette. :)
2. Always "top post." Having to discover where the real message is is a waste of people's time, and they will probably just ignore what you have to say. Either specifically quote things you are replying to or include the entire message at the bottom. Do *not* include the *entire* message you are replying to at the top. This is a senseless waste of people's time.

Hey all, I wanted to make a humble suggestion. I am new to this list, however I have noticed a lot of no-no's on this list. Some common things NOT to do when being a part of a news/mail group are: 1. Never top post. If your email client (Outlook/OE) starts your reply at the top then just cut and past it to the bottom. It is a pain and also silly logic to have to read a message from the bottom up. 2. Never post in HTML. HTML is a waste of bandwidth for email and can carry viruses. At work I use Outlook, however at home it I use Mutt or Sylpheed which are plain text e-mailers. For email sent from work I make Outlook use plain text. Please don't flame me, these are just my opinions on how to make this high volume list more enjoyable. Best, Jim Drabb
