Not sure if this info helps anyone at all, but...
doing a ./configure --with-pdflib nets me...
checking whether to include Pdflib 3.x support... yes
yes
checking for PDF_show_boxed in -lpdf... no
configure: error: pdflib extension requires at least pdflib 3.x. You may also
ne
ed libtiff and libjpeg. If so (cuts off here?!)
However, ./configure --with-pdflib=/usr/local/lib (which is where it is)
gets me
checking whether to include Pdflib 3.x support... no
???
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
P.S. There is a symbolic link already there. :(
Thanks.
