Why do you say Smarty mixes logic and content? Can you provide me a
short example illustrating how you improved that? It can be a very
useful piece of advice.
IMHO it will be good for PHP developers to have a "standarized" way to
do templating because you can share templates between applications,
code, etc. Sometimes developers code a templating engine just because
its then their toy and they have the control...

*checks body signs* Nope, no allergic reaction, however, there are
things in the smarty engine I don't like, such as the extensive
mixing of content and logic. I must admit to never having actually
used Smarty since I have my own templating engine that also
compiles to PHP, and which does not mix content and logic like
Smarty -- so I guess I consider my own wheel also to be round,
perhaps providing a better ride, and it is this insight that makes
me think others can make even better engines -- as long as they
aren't scared off by people telling not to bother.
