Just for fun I compiled from source gdlib and libjpeg and installed them in
a non-standard directory so I could be sure I was using the new versions.
Still no go.
There is only one thing that is really bugging me about my
compilation/installation procedure:
In the manual it says that after php compiles and installs, you are supposed
to find "libphp4.a"... this file is never created in my apache dir???
Instead, I have a "libmodphp4.a" file along with some other stuff in the
src/modules/php4 directory under the apache source root, but if I try
to --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libmodphp4.a it errors out..
So, how I have been able to compile is by copying "libmodphp4.a" to
"libphp4.a". Is this a bad thing??? If so, why is php not creating
libphp4.a??
Thanks
