Small overhead, but then in the overall process of:
while (stuff left)
read stuff
parse stuff
write stuff
end
.. I can't believe that "parse stuff" is so small as to be insignificant
when compared to the "read stuff" and "write stuff" steps, neither of which
are very big either.

On the basis that "read stuff" is going to be hit by a disk access
bottleneck, and "write stuff" by a network bottleneck, I suppose that
answers my question. Looking at CPU only tends to give a very inacurate
